A late start on a cold Saturday in December.

Thirsk started the game well, passing the ball between the forwards and the midfield; however they conceded a goal early in the first half. Despite this Thirsk kept on playing hard, passing the ball around. The young players playing with skill above there age. We were unfortunate to conceded another goal before half time. In the second half we came out fighting with the whole team giving everything they had, especially George, Mike, Michael and Sean. Andy in goal played well making some excellent saves . It was his first game in goal in men's hockey. We conceded one more goal, then came the fight back, we won a short corner Jonathan injected the ball to Liam who took 3 or 4 paces right and stuck the ball into the far side of the goal. We fought on, the moving and passing was excellent and we won another short corner again Jonathan injected the ball to Liam who did the same move again the ball wasn't hit as hard this time but it had the same result. Alex was injured and had to come off which was a shame as he was one of the differences between the teams. Arthur came on in the dying minutes and we got another short corner. The whistle was blown as we took the short corner, but lost control of the ball and the game ended 3-2 to Driffield. Thank you to Ben and Ewan for umpiring.
The team was Andy Watson in goal. Michael Rushmere, Michael Crammer, George Hall and Sean McEag in defence. Liam Shannon, Owen Williams, Callum Crisp and Ollie Dale in midfield. In attack was Jonathan Craske and Alex Kennedy. The subs were Arthur Webster-Jones , Hugo Merchie and Ken Shannon.
