Game away at City of York on 9th November.

Thirsk lined up under the floodlights without needing to prepare a substitution plan against a York squad of about 18. Reggie made his debut in goal, making some important saves to keep Thirsk in the game until the final 15 minutes and Thirsk started with a defensive line up of 4 defenders and a sweeper in front but just Georgina and Fraser in attack. The game was quite even in the first half with chances at both ends, but York did manage to score one of theirs. Isobel and Martin in wide midfield were enjoying plenty of time and space but we probably spent too much time attacking down the middle. Willow had secretly arrived unnoticed to the organiser so her entry to the game was delayed until half time.
Thirsk switched to a 3 man defence and 3 in attack but were unable to create many clear chances despite some good passing from Sam in central midfield. Harry had an excellent game in defence combining excellent tackling with high work rate, but the squad sizes were beginning to make a difference and the defence left Reggie exposed for the 4 later goals. Well done to Gina as captain.
