Great start to the season for Thirsk U16 Boys as they win their first game. Right from the start they controlled the play dominating possession and spending a lot of time in Bradford's "23". Connor Wilkinson had 2 good chances well saved by their keeper, and totally against the run of play Bradford managed to get into our D and win a penalty corner, which they manged to convert. Thirsk heads didn't drop and they continued the passing game that was working so well. A few minutes later a great pass into the D by Sam Kelly was received by Callum Crisp who calmly chipped the keeper. A few minutes later another great pass into the D this time by Matty Raynor saw another tidy finish from Callum Crisp. Throughout the pitch Thirsk were now controlling the game keeping Bradfords defence and keeper busy, Owen Reed at right wingback was really impressive and Arthur Webster Jones in the holding midfield role was bossing the midfield. Second half Callum Crisp rounded off an excellent performance with his third goal. Bradford did start to get back into the game but Matty Raynor closely marked their best player and this saw their chances dry up. In the last minute we did concede a penalty corner, which Bradford converted. If hadn't been for their keeper it could have been an even better score, but we were happy with a 3-2 win especially after the disappointment of going 1 behind.
